Keratoconus Surgery

Stability, Clarity, and Custom Vision Restoration

Keratoconus is a progressive condition where the cornea (the eye's clear front surface) thins and bulges into a cone shape, causing irregular astigmatism and progressively blurred, distorted vision. Dealing with an unstable or irregular cornea requires highly specialised surgical expertise.

Specialist Care for Irregular Corneas
Our Corneal Specialists offer a comprehensive spectrum of advanced, tailored treatments—from stopping the progression of the disease to complex procedures designed to restore and optimise your sight.
Why Choose Our Specialists?

Our focus is on precision, safety, and long-term clarity, ensuring you receive the highest standard of care for growths on the surface of your eye.

The Full Spectrum of Care

We tailor the treatment to the severity and stability of your condition, ensuring the most effective, long-term solution.

Corneal Cross-Linking (CXL)
The cornerstone of treatment for progressive Keratoconus. CXL is a minimally invasive procedure designed to strengthen the corneal tissue and halt the progression of the disease, preventing further vision loss.
Corneal Ring Implants (Intacs/Kerarings)
These small, arc-shaped inserts are placed within the cornea to physically reshape its curvature. This procedure helps reduce irregular astigmatism, making contact lens wear more comfortable and improving overall vision.
CAIRS (Corneal Allogenic Intrastromal Ring Segments)
An advanced, customised form of corneal ring implantation using donor tissue. CAIRS offers excellent biocompatibility and is used in selected cases to achieve a more regular and stable corneal shape with high precision.
Vision Correction (ICL)
For certain stable cases, we can implant an Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) to correct residual refractive error once the cornea has been stabilised, providing a significant improvement in vision without the need for thick glasses.
Advanced Solutions for Complex Cases

Corneal Transplantation (DALK/PK)
In severe or advanced cases where the cornea is significantly scarred or too thin for other procedures, our specialists perform modern corneal transplantations (including DALK and PK) to restore corneal clarity and integrity, offering the best chance for optimal final vision.
Dual-Procedure Optimisation
We frequently combine treatments (e.g., CXL followed by Corneal Rings or ICL) to achieve the best possible visual outcome, carefully planning each stage to maximise your vision.
